Pullip Flower Headpiece

Materials:

  • Size No. 3 Crochet Steel Hook;
  • Size No. 10 Crochet Cotton Thread;
  • Tapestry Needle;
  • Optional: Small Beads; and
  • Needle and Thread in a matching color.

Pattern:

This pattern consists of making 12 flower motifs in a circular fashion to complete the headpiece.

How to make the flower motif:

In a magic circle, do the petal in the ring 5 times. Fasten off, tighten the ring, and weave in the ends.

How to join motifs:

Work the next flower in the same way until you reach 4 petals, ch 3, slip hook through the tr-petal you want to connect with from the RS, then work the next tr in the ring, making sure to pull through the last 4 loops (instead of the final 2) to complete the tr stitch, ch 3, sl st in the ring.

When you reach the 12th flower, you will want to connect to the first and 11th flowers during the 2nd and 5th petal, respectively, by using the same method.

Here are some photos for a clearer explanation on the joining:

(The 2 extra stitches are from the loops of the tr-petal)Continue with the last steps as per the basic motif to complete the joining.

Once you have finished all 12 motifs, you can choose to add a bead in the middle of the flower for extra detail. Sequins can also be used to give the flower a bigger center.
