Adorable Heart Crochet Pattern—Free!

Updated on February 28, 2017

Crocheting hearts is so much fun to do! You can use them for many projects: sew them on amigurumi, hats, scarves or any other crocheted project. They also make a nice keychain if you make a little strap for them. The included diagram makes it easy to crochet these cute hearts with any yarn!

The first heart is tiny; the second heart is a bit bigger, so try them both to see which one fits your project best. To crochet these hearts, you start with a magic ring. If you have never created a magic ring before, please check the video underneath the two heart crochet patterns on this page.

  • Yarn: You can use any yarn to make these hearts
  • Hook size: please check the label on the yarn to see which hook size you should use.
  • Scissor
  • Optional: Tapestry needles with blunt point

You can use any yarn, I used to catania cotton make this heart and a 2.5 mm crochet hook

Magic Ring

The Magic Ring (or Adjustable Ring) is used when crocheting in rounds. The advantages of using the Magic Ring is that once tightened, it leaves no hole in the center of your work.

Check the video's below to see how you make a magic ring.

On the first video, you can see how you make a magic ring if you are right handed.

The second video was made for left-handed crocheters.

Heart Project

You can sew your hearts on many crocheted or knitted projects.

If you use sewing thread you could also sew it on fabric!

Here is an example of the hearts sewn on an elephant amigurumi, very cute!
