You will need:

  • Embroidery thread
  • Book
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue (Optional)

Step 1

Take a book, it may be any dimension for the size of tassel you wish. I used a book with the dimensions of 6 and a half by 4 and a half inches. Wrap thread of desired color, around book many times, as thick as you would like tassel.

Slip a piece of thread through top of book under the lines of thread. Tie tightly, be sure to use a piece long enough to be able to tie loop at the top.

Step 3

Remove the winds of thread from the book. Be sure to remove straightly. Tie a knot with long piece of thread 1 inch from the top of tassel. Tie around a good amount of times, then tie it in a knot again, allow excess thread to hang down tassel.

Then slip thread through and tie at the top. You may also use jewelry wire, as I did with this tassel.

You can simply slip thread through and tie. I used jewelry wire to slip into top of tassel. I hot glued wire together, and turned it inside, to hide glue spot.
