Curvy Barbie Scoop Neckline Bodycon Dress (Free Crochet Pattern)

Author:

My favorite hobby is crocheting doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

With the start of the summer season, I thought my Curvy Barbie could use a dress that suits the weather. I have been trying my best to make new designs that are all following just one stitch pattern throughout, so I decided to go with a simple chain pattern since I also got some questions about how the stitch pattern works in other people's designs.

One of the things I don't like about this stitch pattern is the fact that it is full of holes. To remedy this problem for the snaps, I decided to add some full stitches at the ends of the top so you have something solid to sew the snaps onto. Once the dress is joined together and the tab is formed, I removed the solid stitches to show you how the pattern is worked differently when worked in rows versus rounds.

I created this free bodycon dress pattern with a scoop neckline to fit Curvy Barbie. For more information on the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crochet Clothes For Your Barbie Doll.

I have been asked this a lot, but I tend to stay away from doing adult size patterns, so I have little to no experience with adult size patterns.

I also think it would be quite tedious, as the proportion of the thread to the dolls vs yarn to people is quite different, so you would not be able to achieve the same look. You could try it out with this stitch pattern, though, as the pattern is simple enough to resize.

I’ve been crocheting a few months now, could you help me, I want to know is there a way I could change the size of the patterns for barbie into real adult size clothing pieces? If you could get back to me I’d be very grateful this dress is lovely
