Crochet a Peplum Top, Shorts, and Lei for Curvy Barbie: Free Pattern

Author:

My favorite hobby is crocheting doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

Make a casual outfit for Curvy Barbie!

After making dresses for Curvy Barbie, I thought I would go with something a bit more casual, while still remaining modern. I wanted to play a bit more with the top from Curvy Barbie Flutter Sleeve Bodycon Dress while creating a new silhouette, so I decided to add the peplum. The shorts are an application of How to Make Doll Shorts but with an additional snap at the back to help secure the garment. The lei is a one-size-fits-all kind of thing for any doll you have.

These crocheted items are designed to fit a Curvy Barbie doll, which was released in 2016. For more information on the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crochet Clothes For Your Barbie Doll.

Curvy Barbie Lei

Pattern

With C, ch 42, 4 dc in the 4th ch from hook, 5 dc in each ch across, let the lei curl naturally, join with sl st in the first dc, fasten off.

Make sure this will fit your Barbie's head, as this lei does not use a snap to close. If it does not fit, you should adjust the initial chain to find the right length.

Questions & Answers

Question: When you refer to "RS," do you mean right versus back?

Answer: "RS" means "right side," or the side that shows when the outfit is done.
