Crochet a Barbie Chevron Cami Dress: Free Pattern

Author:

My favorite hobby is crocheting doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

Make a chevron cami dress for Barbie!

After I finished making this design, I realized that I used the same exact shade of yellow in Barbie Strapless Pencil Dress, which was my first attempt at incorporating the chevron pattern in a modern dress for Barbie. I have wanted to create a pattern that uses the chevron pattern throughout the entire outfit, instead of just having the pattern in the skirts.

Since it was easier to correct mistakes with no color changes, I made the entire dress in just one color. I realized after finishing the dress that I will need to rewrite some lines in order to incorporate more colors (to make the transitions easier), and decided to just save that bit for a different project with the same basic chevron pattern.

This was made specifically for a Barbie Model Muse body type. For more information on the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crochet Clothes For Your Barbie Doll.

Hello, Cherry.

This pattern uses a thinner thread than is applicable for a 2mm hook. I suggest checking out my patterns for curvy Barbies, as I tend to use bigger sized hooks for those and also thicker thread.

I wouldn't suggest changing the stitch counts for this pattern as you need a specific multiple of stitches in order to achieve the chevron pattern.

Cherry on May 15, 2019:

Hi i dont have a steel hook but has 2mm hook and a light weight yarn. Instead of of 68 i have chained 35. Now i got confused. Do you any pattern that doesnt require a steel hook no.7 and a thread yarn? Thnks

This is so cute! Sometimes I crochet your patterns in different size yarns instead of thread so my larger fashion dolls can wear your amazing designs! Thank You so much for all of your creative doll clothes patterns. I am having so much enjoyment making these doll clothes and I am sure countless others are having fun too!
