My favorite hobby is to crochet doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

One of the ways I find inspiration for designs is by checking out trendy designs from clothing stores. One such trend: tops that show off the shoulders by either having a flounce with an off-shoulder or open-shoulder where there are two straps, one for the shoulder and one off-shoulder.

Even though bodycon dresses still appear to be fashionable right now, I decided to compromise and make a high slit skirt instead. It gives the appearance of a bodycon dress until you reach the slit and still gives off a different silhouette.

This hub is a free pattern for a Flounce Open-Shoulder High Slit Dress for Model Muse body types. For more information on the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crocheting for Your Barbie Doll.

These are the kinds of hooks I use for my doll designs. They are sold specifically for working with crochet thread due to their smaller sizes.
