Barbie Asymmetrical Off-Shoulder Dress (Free Crochet Pattern)

Author:

My favorite hobby is crocheting doll clothes. Using what I've learned from reading existing patterns, I create my own designs for Barbie.

Barbie Asymmetrical Off Shoulder Dress

While working on a period dress from Paradise Publications, I came up with the design for the Barbie Asymmetrical Off-Shoulder Dress and took a break from the more complicated pattern to make this simple dress. Inspired by the basic skirt pattern from the period dress, this pattern uses a combination of single and double crochets to produce a textured look.

This article is a free crochet pattern for the Barbie Asymmetrical Off-Shoulder Dress. It is made specifically to fit Barbie Basics (or Model Muse). For more information regarding the different body types of Barbie, please visit Crocheting Clothes For Your Barbie Doll.

Questions & Answers

Question: Where are the two colors used in the first post? Are you working two threads at the same time, or do you just have the second color for optional designs like the "Barbie flounce"?

Answer: I prefer working with one thread at a time when I crochet. The only time I bother working with a second thread is for color blocking (when the color changes are done in the middle of the row), which is why you normally see the color changes as just details I add at the end. The links to the other designs are in the article if you are interested in making them.
