31 Absolutely Doable Canvas Art Tutorials for Beginners
Loraine loves arts and crafts and used to volunteer at an elementary art class. She loves sharing fun and easy craft tutorials.
When I started searching for ideas on how to make canvas art, I was actually looking for the inspirational writing art that is so popular right now. I figured that that should be easy enough for me to do without expending a lot of time or expense. Well, to my surprise I found that, plus many other really great ideas for making art. And actually the poured paint art really got my attention. I’m adding videos that I thought were especially filled with useful information. The one that I’m very anxious to try, as soon as I get a few supplies that I’ll need, is the “dipping not pouring” method.
But, of course, I'm also interested in trying my hand at making the beautiful patriotic flag art shown above. Find the outstanding tutorial for making this project at Step by Step Painting.

22. Dipping Not Pouring
My First Dipped Painting
After watching the Dipping not Pouring video above, I couldn't wait to try my hand at it. Here is my first attempt at dip painting, and I love it. The second and third paintings were made using the leftover paint after dipping the first canvas. I plan on writing an inspirational saying on the last canvas of this group.
My Second Attempt at Dip Painting
Of course, once is not enough, so I did a second dip painting using the left over paint to roll my wine bottles. Before doing the wine bottles I painted them with Mod Podge and left them dry. I painted the necks of the bottles before rolling the body of the bottle through the paint.
After leaving all the paintings and the bottles dry thoroughly, I sprayed them with Krylon Clear Glaze. My next project is getting a bunch of fellow crafters together to have a "Wine Plus Dipping Not Pouring" party.
