Updated on June 12, 2017

GalaxyRat is fond of rats and writing. And dark poetry. She knows that people don't like all these things together... but who cares?

Step 1: Outline of Head and Shoulders

Draw a sphere and shoulders as shown, and draw the guidelines.

Step 2: Eyes and Nose and Mouth

They don't have to be perfect. Just draw two circles slightly in the lower middle of the face, as shown. Make sure the eyes are drawn and on the guideline, and the nose and mouth are as well.

Step 3: Outline of Hair

Draw bangs and let the hair fall to the shoulders. For short hair, make it shorter!

Step 5: Erase Guidelines

You don't need them anymore, but you can keep them longer if you want.

Step 6: Draw and Shade the Clothes

It's as easy as it looks. You can make any type of clothes you want.

Step 7: Define the Hair

Draw lines in the hair, leave it blank, or shade it. Your drawing — your choice.

Step 8: Erase the Eyes

(If you don't, skip down to step 11)

Skip this step if you like the eyes the way they are.

Step 9: Choose an Expression

Different expressions can be tried with different eyebrows and all that. Pick one and zoom to the next step.

Step 10: Draw an Outline of That Expression

Don't draw any circles or shade the eyes just yet.

Step 11: Define the Eyes

Draw two circles in both eyes as shown, and darken the areas around them.

Hi Galaxy. This is a bit of a fun exercise. I have drawn quite a bit of Manga, but not recently. Check out my hub "How to Draw Using the Right Side of Your Brain". You may find that interesting.

I had never heard of the term manga. I really like how you drew the eyes.
