Easy Spider Web Craft for Halloween

A Fun and Simple Craft
I enjoy doing crafts from my years working in a public library. These are simple crafts using everyday supplies or things you can get at one of the discount stores. I'll show you how to make this in just five easy steps.
What You Need
Supplies:
- 3 craft sticks (popsicle sticks)
- Glue
- Yarn or string
- A spider (not living!)
Additional Items (Optional):
- Markers
- Stickers
- Paint
- Cotton balls
- Any other decorative items
Step 1: Set Your Base
Decide how you want to arrange the base of your web. Set your craft or popsicle sticks up in a pattern similar to the picture. You can use more than three sticks if you wish. Glue them together and set aside to dry.
Step 2: Set It Down and Wait
Before you do anything else, let your sticks dry first. Be patient! Wait for maybe about 30 minutes or an hour.
Step 3: Build Your Center
Start by wrapping the yarn around the center of the object. Wrap it several times—both around the corners in the center and over the sticks—in order to create the center of a web.
Step 4: Move the Yarn Out
Start wrapping the yarn around each stick. Move outward slightly as you wrap the yarn around the next stick. Keep moving in the same direction until you have completed the pattern. See the image for assistance...

Step 5: Add Spiders and Hang!
For a more realistic effect, add some toy or plastic spiders. As seen in the images, you could simply tie a spider to your web using a piece of yarn. Consider adding other decorative items, too.
Now, hang up your spider web! Use some extra string to hang this from a ceiling or a doorknob. You can even make your web into a necklace.

Please let me know if the directions were easy to follow or how it worked out for you. I have a few other craft pages and will be working on more. I hope to hear from you. Thank you!
