DIY Tic-Tac-Toe Crafts
Deborah is a craft enthusiast. She particularly enjoys creating crafts with a special theme.
Tic-tac-toe is a very old and popular game. It is a way to pass the time and have fun. There are different ways to make a craft out of this particular game. These are three examples of tic-tac-toe DIY that are ideal to make as a gift, travel game, or fun project for kids.
Tic-Tac-Toe Bag
The tic-tac-toe bag craft is easy to make.
You will need:
- felt sheets
- black ink or marker.
- needle and thread or hot glue.
- ribbon or tie cord.
- little rocks
This example is for a small sized game. You may adjust this craft to any size you wish and choose any color you prefer.
Step 1
Cut two square shaped pieces felt, 7 by 6 inches.
Step 2
Sew together three sides of bag, leaving top open.

Only sew three sides together. Be sure not to sew the top together and leave the top edges of the felt open.
Step 3
Sew the edge of the top of the bag over tie cord. Then turn the bag inside out.
Step 4
Paint tic-tac-toe lines onto the front of the bag and let it dry. I used ink, but a marker will work just fine.
Step 5
Paint little rocks, with Xs and Os on them. You may collect and clean rocks. River rocks work great for this project. They sell smooth stones at craft stores and the Dollar Tree. I chose small sizes so not to make the bag too heavy.
This is a perfect little tic-tac-toe bag!
Tic-Tac-Toe Felt
This is a simple tic-tac-toe craft!
You will need:
- A felt sheet.
- Foam felt
- Hot glue
- Tie cord or ribbon.
- Paint
- Lollipop sticks
You need a felt sheet the color of your choice. I bought one that was 9 by 12 inches.
Paint 4 lollipop sticks.
Cut squares out of foam sheets. They can be cut largely to fit in within lollipop sticks. These ones are about 2 inches by 2 inches.
Hot glue tie cord to the edge to the felt. This makes it possible to tie closed. You may use ribbon or string.

Hot glue a little strip of felt, and a small square of felt onto the felt sheet. Then the lollipop sticks and squares can be kept inside.
Hot glue a little piece of felt on the inside of felt sheet to fit lollipop sticks into, and a small square of felt, so Xs and Os can be kept inside of it.
You may role and tie the felt together now!
This is a fun Tic Tac Toe craft to keep in a game room or on a coffee table.
Tic-Tac-Toe Magnet Tin
This is a very fun one! This tiny tic-tac-toe game can be carried around anywhere.
You will need:
- Mint tin, an empty one can be used to make this craft.
- Foam sheet
- Magnet strips
- Hot glue
- Mod Podge
- Paint or marker.
Step 1
Stick magnet strips onto the inside of the lid of the tin.

Stick magnet strips onto the inside of the lid. Strips should be stuck down the middle, be sure that tin is still able to close.
Step 2
Cut a small piece of foam sheet to fit on the inside of the lid. Mod Podge foam sheet on top of the magnet sheets. Let Dry!
Step 3
Paint or draw tic tac toe lines on the foam sheet.
Step 4
Cut magnet strips into tiny little squares, and cut foam sheet into tiny little squares. Hot glue foam squares onto the magnet squares.
Step 5
Paint or Draw Xs and Os on the little squares. Let dry! The little tic tac toe squares can be kept inside, and they will stick onto to the inside while playing a game because of the magnetic element.
Step 6
This step is optional! Glue a piece of foam on to the top of mint tin. Paint or draw Tic Tac Toe lines on the top of tin. I painted it splash style, to add a little color!
That’s it! Now you can keep this little Tic Tac Toe game, and carry it anywhere.

The little squares can be kept inside tin. The squares will stay on the lines during a game, because of the magnets.
Enjoy this classic game with these easy crafts!
