DIY Jar Crafts
Deborah is a craft enthusiast. She particularly enjoys creating crafts with a special theme.
Jars are easy to find in the produce section of your local grocery store or craft store. Better yet, mason jars commonly store tasty ingredients. Jars can be reused to create DIY projects. These are three crafts that are easy to make and a lot of fun to put together. Plastic jars can be used for these crafts as well.
Rose Jar
This is an ornamental jar that is lovely placed in a room or given as a gift. The color theme may be any color of rose you wish. I chose red!
You will need:
- Glass Jar (or plastic)
- Fake Rose
- Floral Foam Ball
- Party Beads
- Hot Glue
- Glitter(optional)
Step 1
Glue the foam ball to the inside of the lid.
Step 2
Take the fake rose and stick the stem into the small foam ball.
Step 3
Take the party bead necklace and cut each bead off into the jar. I chose red beads to match the rose.
Step 4
Sprinkle glitter into the jar.
Step 5
Gently screw the lid onto the jar. Then turn it right-side up.
That’s it! Enjoy this rose in a jar.
Fairy Jar
It inspires the imagination to create a fairy garden. Why not a fairy world in a jar?
You will need:
- Jar
- Hot Glue
- Little Fairies
- Floral Ball
- Glitter
- Rocks
- Green Paint
- Green Craft Felt
- Miniature Plants
Step 1
Cut the green felt and glue it on the inside of the lid.
Step 2
Paint the small floral ball green. Paint a river rock green as well. Let them dry.
Step 3
Glue the floral ball and rock to the inside of the lid. Be sure to take into account that the jar must still be able to screw on the lid and fit over the objects.
Step 4
Hot glue fairies onto the objects.
Step 5
Place little plants around the fairies. Sprinkle with glitter.
Step 6
Screw the jar down over the fairies.
That’s it! Now you have a fairy world in a jar.
Little Snow Globe
This little snow globe is relatively easy to make, and a popular DIY jar craft. I decided to craft the little globe when seeing a round shaped jar, but this craft can certainly be made with a regular mason jar.
You will need:
- Jar (I used a round one)
- Little Statue
- Glitter
- Hot Glue
- Lid
- Round Foam (I used gold foam from party scatter)
- Vegetable Glycerin (optional)
Step 1
Glue a round lid and foam to the inside of the lid. Be sure that it is the right size to fit into lid without interfering with the rim of the jar. The lid needs to be able to be screwed onto the jar.
Step 2
Hot glue the small figurine to the foam.
Step 3
Sprinkle glitter into the jar.
Step 4
Fill the jar with water. You may add a dash of vegetable glycerin if you wish to make the glitter sink slowly, but plain water works fine.
Step 5
Carefully screw the lid on the jar. All done! Now you have your very own little snow globe.
Enjoy making these crafts out of jars!

How cute! My niece had a Beauty and the Beast birthday party a while back and I made her an enchanted rose display.
