Michael was raised in the Ozark Mountain region of Missouri and has always enjoyed woodworking, wood carving, and writing. His genuine interest started while taking Industrial Arts courses in high school. There he was surrounded by tools, materials, and a very encouraging instructor. Through the years he has created many pieces of furniture, cabinetry, and wood carvings. He continues to this day.
Michael has completed courses and training in kitchen design and has designed several kitchens for clients. He is also involved with the flooring industry. He likes to share his knowledge through writing as well as "how to" clinics. He has a deep appreciation for creativity and natural beauty.
Michael personally challenges himself to create something nice out of something that would otherwise be thrown away by repurposing wood as much as possible. His goal is to share the enthusiasm and hopefully encourage others to be creative.
The overall objective is that you might get inspired to try attempting some things that you didn't think you could do. Many of his completed projects can be found at "Old Place Treasures" on Facebook.
